About The Karaoke Camper

Hi, I’m Brook—the voice behind The Karaoke Camper. What started as a silly “what if” idea turned into a vintage camper remodel and a way to bring karaoke anywhere.

As a forever fan of karaoke, I wanted a private spot to sing but couldn’t find one close enough. So I thought, why not make one that comes to you? With my husband, Intranig, along for the ride (he’s the heavy lifter and numbers guy), we set out to make it happen.

In 2024 we found a 1969 Avion Suntrail on Facebook Marketplace and drove two hours to get it. We didn’t know how to tow, back up, or really do much of anything trailer-related. Shoutout to the neighbors for saving us that first night getting it into the driveway.

We took the trailer to a company at first, but it turned out to need more work than we expected and the cost was higher than we wanted, so we decided to tackle it ourselves. That kicked off a crash course in camper DIY: we scoured RV sites, vintage trailer forums, boat blogs, and off-grid communities, picking up all kinds of new skills along the way—from sewing to riveting to installing a mini-split.

The trailer lived at my dad’s house while he tackled most of the heavy work, and we “guided” from the sidelines—mostly by sending endless packages and sketches his way. A local cabinet maker built the cabinetry (and swore never again to work on a camper). It took planning, problem-solving, creative thinking… and patience—because who doesn’t love spending an entire day removing just one piece of weatherstripping?

Every choice was intentional: battery power to set up almost anywhere, durable finishes that hold up to a crowd, and a simple app that gets the karaoke started fast. Now it’s a place where you can step inside, forget your nerves, and just sing.

Like an Airstream, but not.

Avion campers were introduced in the 1950s by the Universal Trailer Company. Known for their sleek, aircraft-inspired design and rugged aluminum shell, Avions quickly earned a reputation for comfort, quality, and longevity.

While Airstreams might be the flashier cousin, Avions have their own cult following—and some say they’re even better built. Ours, a 1969 Avion Suntrail Sport Special (stock #323), carries that legacy forward, now reborn as a party suite on wheels.
